Square Emerald Cut Diamonds

The Square Emerald Cut is admired by lovers of high diamond clarity. The symmetry of its shape maximises the play of light mirrored from the facets within.

While the square form exhibits more sparkle than the traditional Emerald cut, the square Emerald cut still retains the cool liquidity desired by many.

Its understated elegance is due to its step-cut faceting in a straight-sided square form, with bevelled corners. The steps are the parallel rows of facets on both the pavilion and the crown. There may be three or four of these concentric rows, depending on how the diamond cutter shapes the stone.

As with other step-cut shapes, the open table allows the viewer to see into the depths of the stone to appreciate its true clarity. With a wide range of sizes available, continuous rows or matching pairs can be incorporated into designs.
